RawCloud offers the possibility to save money when using the VPS, by letting a tool to monitor the VPS activity, getting the raw data thru a software agent which needs to be installed on the VPS. The data is send regular to the AI server for analysis. Once the AI detects no activity on the VPS, the VPS will be placed on a low energy consumption environment. When the AI detects again activity the VPS will be placed back on normal environment, without the user seeing any difference in VPS behavior.
The software agent can be found and downloaded from GitHub. The source code is public for transparency. The data that the software agent collects and sends to the AI server contains the performance metrics of the programs that run on the VPS. There is no any user data that is sent to the AI server.
The AI detection for no activity is based on multiple factors. After a VPS is created the AI needs couple days to learn the behavior and then starts detecting no activity when is the case, and improves the algorithm with each day. Each hour of no activity that AI detects will be 90% free of charge from normal cost. User can see in the dashboard how many hours of no activity the AI detected for each VPS and charts with costing saved.
In general the AI software works for all types of behavior regarding how VPS is used. The detection of no activity is at 50% accurate. We are continuously developing the technology to increase accuracy, so both users and planet to win.
The feature is optional and not activated by default. It can be activated per VPS. To activate the feature, you need first to download the software agent from GitHub on the VPS and run it as sudo. After, you need to go to dashboard, and activate the feature.
If you want to deactivate the feature, you can only switch the status from dashboard. You can activate later by switching back the status, if you want. The agent will not send any data after is deactivated. But if you want to remove entirely the feature and any file associated to the feature, you can go to software agent directory on the VPS and run with sudo privileges uninstall.
